recap
0830 - first radio traffic on MRC channel / TG - someone heard Pon Pon
regarding sailboat overturned at Orient Heights Yacht Club - maybe it
was BPD Harbor Unit or MEP Thomas Payne that heard the Pon Pons - (PAC
Com was notified on the MRC channel) - thats what we heard first -
someone calling in on the 'MRC' channel to "paccom? - not sure why we
are heaiing PacCom via broadcastify calls - no TG ID shows up)
(859 am - have not heard anyone mention the Pon Pons again)
0839 - on BAPERN Central - Boston to State - our harbor patrol got a
call of overturned boat at Orient Hgts Yacht Club
0839 - on Troop F Detail TG - 1 cop sent (off the 2s) ? runway 2?
0839 - BFD asks MU3 if they are aware of incident on BFD Ch 3 - yes -
do you want land companies? - no
0842 - MEP Thomas Payne at scene - 1 person in water being recovered -
dispatcher on F Detail TG can see 2 rescue boats at scene now
0844 - MEP Thomas Payne reports on MRC no injuries
0844 - F Patrol 1 - F Troop talking to the "marine unit' - gonna guess
that was a MSP unit that came over from the STATE TG - no reply heard
from the 'marine unit' actually to the "F" message
0849 - on Marine Traffic.com - can see bfd geoge layhe and bfd Captain
John Kenney in the area - dont see any other boats
0851 - MEP Thomas Payne gives lats longs of incident - 42 22.677 N 070 59.962 W
response time was 12 minutes
responding units were apparently - Winthrop HarborMaster + 2 BFD boats
+ 1 BPD boat + 1 MSP boat + MEP Thomas Payne + ? uscg ? - EMTs were on
bfd boats and bpd boat
we have no idea who has legal responsibility for providing rescue
service out there - might be the US Navy for all we know - possibly
the harbormasters have responsibility out to 3 miles offshore - but
this could be under Sail Boston AOR today - would make sense - was
right next to Logan Airport
dont think that Logan FD sent either of their boats - didnt hear any
traffic on Logan FD talkgroups - but neither of their boats was at
their dock - so they are out and about somewhere
