- south area fire stations - someone put lots of work into these maps
- each marker is placed exactly at the station location - every damn
one of them afaik
(lets call this a high-quality information map ) or high quality
nice - most stations are 1 or 2 bays - most have 1 or 2 antennas on
the roof - only 1 has a flagpole - some have yardams for drying hose -
this is apparently the only State in Australia that has just 1 FD -
5000 vols and 300 paid staff - most vol stations seem to have 1 large
engine (750 gal tank maybe) plus 1 smaller engine (maybe 500 gallon
tank) - no brush trucks / smoke chasers
some very small towns have a station - one town is completely off the
grid and only has 77 residents - but they have a fire station and
organic farm
ambulance service use FT medics and oncall medics and single medics
and vols and vol first responders and vol drivers etc tasmania has
their crap together
state forestry and state parks / national parks also have some fire
engines - not sure how many - maybe 20 each - trying to dig up more
info on them
