The fire alarm system at the College serves to protect lives and
property. Due to the cost of having the Beverly Fire Department
respond to false alarms, individual residents, or entire residence
halls are assessed a fine for preventable, false fire alarms in
addition to the fine assessed for intentionally set fire alarms.
Misuse of exterior emergency phones in addition to pull stations, fire
extinguishers, emergency exits, or fire doors is considered tampering
with fire equipment and may result in assessing a fine and conduct
sanctions. It is required that all persons leave any facility during
the sounding of the alarm system.
