The definition of drought is a prolonged period of moisture
deficiency. Drought is a normal, recurrent feature of climate. It
occurs almost everywhere, although its features vary from region to
region. These conditions originate from a deficiency of precipitation
over an extended period of time, resulting in a water shortage.
Drought conditions affect the development of crops and livestock as
well as a water availability and water quality. Drought is also a key
factor in Winter Storm development by making natural fuels (grass,
brush, trees, dead vegetation) more prone to fires.

their droughts make their WINTER STORMS worse? how about their WILDFIRES?

have to give them credit - they were trying to work with state
forestry to quell their wildfire risk - and they installed gas tanks
at all fire stations and they got a generator for fire station 4

will be interesting to see if the LA wildfires light a real fire under them

looking at sat view - they have vegetation everywhere in the county -
much probably has not burned in 100 years

their wildfire analysis is wildly inaccurate and foolhardy

Inventory of Assets Exposed to Wildfire According to HAZUS database,
Rockdale County had 34,017 structures, of which 34,017 (100%) were
located within the wildfire hazard area. The City of Conyers had 8,136
structures, of which 8,136 (100%) were located within the wildfire
hazard area. See Appendix D (Wildfire Section) for GEMA Worksheet #3a
which provides a complete inventory of assets and has been completed
for both Rockdale County and the City of Conyers.

Future Impacts and Probability for Climate Change Rockdale County and
the City of Conyers have experienced 0 wildfires from 2010-2023, which
equates to a 1% chance of a wildfire event occurring on any given day.
However, it must be taken into consideration that the daily chance of
a wildfire event will continue to increase annually as a result of
continuous climate changes. The wildfire season has lengthened in many
areas due to factors including warmer springs, longer summer dry
seasons, drier soils and dead vegetation.

most areas show 1 foot flame lengths

anyone see the problem with this?

how much flame length does it take to burn down a house? how about 1
ember that is 1 millimeter long?

on the other hand - they do say - Wildfires are a serious threat to
Rockdale County. Between 2017 and 2023 there have been 412 wildfires
(brush, grass, wildland) (by Cause) reported by the Rockdale County
Fire Department (Rockdale County Fire and Rescue).

county fd only has 2 brush trucks iirc
