bottom line - its all about molecules crashing into other molecules

this is probably related to combustion / fire

combustion is a reaction where oxygen is added to a substance with the
release of light and smoke and energy etc - these reactions exhibit a
'energy of activation' curve - we can see that curve on the board
there

you could think of this as advanced chemistry of combustion

he is trying to teach us some advanced concepts of why fire does what it does

we could be totally wrong but maybe not

he starts out by talking about "stable states" of reactants - thats
probably aka "energy levels"

its all about molecules crashing into other molecules
