boston mass fd specialty units
Div 1 and R1 and TL3 are at Sta 10
Div 2 and R2 and TL10 are at Sta 28 - or TL10 is at Sta 28 and R2 is at Sta 42
TL3 and R1 and TL10 and R2 do run ems calls and still alarms like
other companies - but they also run to all working incidents in their
Divisions
Div 1 and Div 2 only respond to high hazard locations and to confirmed incidents
R1 R2 TL10 TL3 all have 4 person crews
the scuba trucks and the hazmat truck and the collapse rescue truck
and the technical rescue trucks are not staffed unless needed - they
are staffed by 1 person from a company in the fire station where they
are housed
this type of setup probably exists in most major FDs across the USA -
except that the largest cities might have fulltime staffed hazmat
trucks and technical rescue trucks - NYC and Los Angeles and Phoenix
have fulltime hazmat trucks iirc - lA has 3 fulltime usar trucks iirc
- san diego has 1 or 2 fulltime usar trucks iirc - houston might have
both hazmat trucks and staffed foam trucks
structure fire helicopters - los angeles + chicago + san diego - (fdny
uses pd helos)
