Hello,

I'm starting to tinker around with the V3 API and noticed that there doesn't seem to be an option to regenerate an API key (e.g. if it is compromised). I know that these API keys are free and there's little to gain if one obtains someone else's, but I'm just wondering if there is a way to replace a key if a bad actor were to somehow obtain it. This hasn't happened to me and I'm not planning on making a public app but I thought I'd ask out of curiosity since other transit APIs I've used have had options to regenerate a key.

Thanks!
Aaron

Hi Aaron,

Thank you for the feature suggestion! In the meantime, if you need to regenerate a key, please reach out to us directly (deve...@mbta.com). We can generate a new key for you.

Sincerely,
Developer@MBTA
