Hey,
We're mostly all stuck at home so how about let's see how many cumulative bird species visit our feeders on this one day. So far, I have Mourning Dove, Song Sparrow, House Sparrow, Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, and Dark-eyed Junco....as of 06:45. What's the ceiling for all of our feeders combined? 40? 50?

Morning folks,

I'll add a pair of Cardinals and a male Downy Woodpecker.

Here is a link to a cam I have streaming on one of my feeders... http://massapoag.org/cam/bird_cam/bird_cam.html

Dale

Most of the usual suspects have shown up in my backyard in Shrewsbury:  White-throated Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Northern Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker, House Finch, Black-capped Chickadee, Dark-eyed Junco, White-breasted Nuthatch, European Starling, American Goldfinch, and Mourning Dove.

I'm still looking out for the pairs of Hairy Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, and Red-tailed Hawk that are usually around and I saw yesterday afternoon during the beginning of the storm.  Will update later if I see them today.

So far, I can add a Sharp-shinned Hawk (took a starling), American Tree Sparrow, Goldfinch, House Finch, Downy Woodpecker, Starling, White-breasted Nuthatch.

The birds are swarming all over the feeders while I’m trying to shovel them out!

Latest update – we now have 2 Mallards under the feeders – we figure they must come from Beaver Brook, which is about ½ mile away…

i can add two flickers and a probable barred owl that my wife just flushed
from our spruce behind the house. (it was a big owl and her impression was
barred, which i think is the more likely in this setting.). it must have
been there the whole time i was out shoveling space for the bird food
earlier.

we've had our usual four woodpecker species--downy (3 or 4), hairy (pair),
red-bellied (female), and flicker (2). and at least one carolina wren if
not two.

I wanted to be the first to report a yellow-bellied sapsucker (female) but Bonnie beat me to it. This is at least the third year, around this same time, that we have had a female yellow-bellied sapsucker visiting our suet. I am beginning to wonder if it could be the same bird. She has been here at least since Friday - possibly longer, since I am not usually home during the day to observe the feeders. Otherwise, we have the usual feeder birds appearing today - very active morning at the feeders.

mourning doves
white-throated sparrows
house sparrows
American goldfinches
downy woodpeckers (4)
hairy woodpeckers (2)
red-bellied woodpeckers (1 male & 1 female)
dark-eyed juncos
starlings (sigh)
brown creeper (1)
white-breasted nuthatches (2)
blue jay (1)
tufted titmouse
black-capped chickadee
Northern cardinals (2 - male & female) (wow - 21 for Dave Larson - I live right down the street - what are you feeding them, Dave?!)

Fun idea, Brian!
My feeder in Concord center has been hopping this morning...

Northern Cardinals, Dark-eyed Juncos, Mourning Doves, Blue Jays, American Crow, Downy Woodpecker, White-Breasted Nuthatch, Tufted Titmice, Black-Capped Chickadees, House Sparrows, one Starling, Goldfinches, and one Song Sparrow (which we have never had at our feeder). I also thought I heard the Carolina Wren this morning. Here are a few photos...

Hi all,
Thanks Brian for this fun exercise! The only thing I can add is a possible Fish Crow that flew over among many American Crows and American Robins. (Didn't vocalize)

Good birding,
