I noticed a Hummingbird at the window feeder this morning and from the
head on view with a single red gorget feather decided quickly it was a
young Ruby-throated as it flew off only to find at lunch time it
visiting again but viewed from the side the rufous feathers of this
adult female Rufous / Allen's Hummingbird really stood out.
I managed a few poor quality images through the kitchen window & screen
but after removing the screen and "working from home" for a few hours
this afternoon never saw the bird again. Nor did it show up this
evening. Should it happen to reappear I'll be sure to send an update.
