Official Counter: John Weeks

Observers: Gary Adamson, Jim Reid, John Weeks

Visitors:
Gary's wife Anne.

Weather:
Cloud-cover increased from 50% to 85% by noon, then steadily diminished
during the afternoon, to less than 20%. Dense haze throughout the watch.
Wind WSW 2-6 mph, becoming W at noon. Temperature 67-70 F.

Raptor Observations:
With so little wind, it came as no surprise that only a single Buteo was
seen migrating. One of the two eagles managed to vanish into a cloud
moments after it was detected by Gary and Jim, and its identity vanished
with it. Not counted as migrants: adult Bald Eagle, adult Red-tailed
Hawk.

Non-raptor Observations:
Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Blue Jays (2), American Crows (5),
Common Ravens (kettle of 12, presumably heading south), Black-capped
Chickadees (4), Tufted Titmice (2), Ruby-crowned Kinglets (3),
White-breasted Nuthatch, Carolina Wren, Eastern Bluebirds (8), American
Robins (20), Purple Finches (5), American Goldfinch, Field Sparrow,
Dark-eyed Juncos (3), Savannah Sparrows (5), Song Sparrows (2),
Yellow-rumped Warblers (2). Two pairs of dragonflies mating on the wing.
