Subject: Three Sapsuckers at Arnold Arboretum, Etc.
I covered almost all of this place today, and had many highlights:
Sharp-shinned Hawk1 Bussey Hill, landed in tree
Red-tailed Hawk 1+
Great Horned Owl 1 in that nest
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 3 all adult males; two together near that
small pond near top of Bussey Hill; one conifer section in a Scotch Pine
way over near that church that's near the Sophia Snow House
Hairy Woodpecker 1+
Northern Flicker 1+
Fish Crow 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 scarce this winter? FOY
Brown Creeper 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 in marsh at far end of berm (if coming from
Visitor's Center end)
White-throated Sparrow 20+ mostly marsh
Song Sparrow 10
Dark-eyed Junco 30
Red-winged Blackbird 1
White-tailed Deer 3
Coyote 3
