Observation date: 11/7/10
Notes:Birding with John Nelson-cold and blustery gray day- Kieran Trail/Straitsmouth Cove Rockport After a quiet walk around the trail, we decided to walk down to the cove. To my surprise I heard one gnatcatcher note, and we quickly found him in a small fruit tree by the signage for Straitsmouth Cove. Then shortly after, I found 2 gnatcatchers together in a different small fruit tree. Wow! A stop at Halibut point gave us 2 towhees-male and female, Gray Catbird and a Fox Sparrow all quite close to the walking trail entrance. The Cooper's Hawk was in my yard chasing house sparrows about the shrubbery, and was there yesterday too.
