I mis-heard and incorrectly recorded Will Martens' observations on a swallow yesterday and several of you had questions or got excited that we might have had a cave swallow:) Unfortunately I did not see the bird. Here are the observations on what we ID'd as Cliff Swallow in Will's own words...

The swallow was seen through my scope in the upper impoundment. I first saw it at about 70 yards flying away from me. I first saw the pale orange rump. The bird did turn right when it arrived at the grass/cattails, the cap and throat appeared dark, but did not get much color. I never saw any white on forehead, but the swallow never turned toward me. The breast, sides, belly and flanksappeared to be light, again did not see any color. I saw the swallow a total of about 30 seconds before I lost it in the grass.I saw it about 7:15 am.

Hope that clarifies; the Cliff Swallow ID still seems correct; I have corrected the EBird comments,
