I'm also always amazed at all the new programs, events and activities
that we have in the area. A few things to highlight:
The Girl Scouts are having their annual cookie sale now - only $3.50 a
box and it really helps the local troops to raise funds for their
troop and the positive things they do throughout the year. You can
read more on our local service unit for Mason and Deerfield Twp. on
http://www.masonmetu.com/volunteer-and-service-organizations-for-kids.php.
If you're daughter is interested in joining Girl Scouts you can also
find out more information.
The Elementary and Middle School Guidance Counselors of the Mason City
School District have partnered with the Warren County Mental Health &
Recovery Center to offer a Positive Parenting workshop on Feb. 4.
This is a FREE workshop for parents in the Mason City School
District. I wanted to post it now so you can get it on your
calendars. To read more about the workshop visit the Educational
Resources page on MasonMetu at http://www.masonmetu.com/schools-and-education.php.
My all time favorite museum in Cincinnati, Cincinnati Museum Center,
is having their FREE Africal Culture fest this weekend. See all that
the museum has to offer at http://www.masonmetu.com/museums.php.
They'll have entertainment, activities and booths set up. If you do
decide to visit one of the museums, there is a charge for admission
but the admission is well worth it.
Also, the Cincinnati Observatory has Marsapolooza starting next
Thursday. If you've never been to the Cincinnati Observatory it is
definitely something that you should do. It's near Ault Park in Hyde
Park and it has lots of historic charm. A great place to visit with
some of your school age kids. Find more info on our historic sites
page at http://www.masonmetu.com/historic-sites.php.
Here are the upcoming events and remember to check on
http://www.masonmetu.com/monthly-top-pics.php for more details as well
as the listing for the ongoing events (remember it's Martin Luther
King Day this Monday so think about doing something fun with the kids
- maybe visit the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center - more
info on http://www.masonmetu.com/museums.php).
