Hello everyone, tis' the season.....there's lots of yucky stuff going
around now and our family is a part of it. I'm a bit overwhelmed with
all the H1N1 information - to vaccinate or not vaccinate, that is the
question. Ahhhhh.....it can make your head spin. Here's some sites
that have been emailed to me that may help you stay more informed:

http://www.co.warren.oh.us/health/flu/index.htm (Warren County's
Health Department)
http://www.co.warren.oh.us/health/flu/h1n1_FAQ_parents_upon_vaccine.pdf
(Parent info)
http://tinyurl.com/yzxx5tj (article on 10 thing you should know about
swine flu)
http://tinyurl.com/yztwghn (5 tips to avoid swine flu)
http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/habits.htm (Centers for Disease
Control)

I've read that frequent hand washing, keeping your hands away from you
face (mouth & nose), and staying home when you are sick are some of
the best things to do (also sounds like common sense).

Ok, now that I've done my public health duty, there are still many fun
family-friendly things to do (if you're healthy). A few things I'd
like to mention:

On Monday, Oct. 19, stop by the TGI Friday's at the Voice of America
to support the Mason RedHawks baseball team. They are raising money
to help their team and 20% off all proceeds will help these young
players. You have to print off a coupon and you can find these on
http://www.masonmetu.com/monthly-top-pics.php (scroll to Oct. 19).

I just read about a new arcade in Fairfield called Arcade Legends. You
pay one fee (kids under 5 are free, ages 6-11 are $6 and over 6 are
$10-12) and you can play all day. You can find more info on
http://www.masonmetu.com/arcades-and-laser-tag.php. I emailed the
owners, and they also do birthday parties and other events. This
might be a fun place for a 2nd through 6th grader to have a party.
You get use of their party room for 2-3 hours and the party guests are
charged $5-10/person.

Mom's if you're looking for a fun night out, head to a FREE
progressive shopping event at the Homearama in Carmelle on Oct. 22.
It's sponsored by Cincy Chic but MasonMetu will be there in
conjunction with Cincinnati Business Connections and we're having a
free raffle - stop by the Mix & Mingle house. There'll be food,
drinks, great conversation and a chance to see some beautiful homes.
See more info at http://www.masonmetu.com/adult-time.php.

If you've been reading my newsletters, than you know I like to write
so here are some of my recent articles:

I've got a new article posted on Family Friendly Cincinnati and it's
about upcoming FREE Halloween events. Go to http://familyfriendlycincinnati.com/?p=732
to check it out. AutumnFest on Oct. 24 at Corwin Nixon Park in Mason
is featured.

My daughter and I visited IKEA on Sat. and had a great time. You can
see the Associated Content article at http://tinyurl.com/yfh9lct and
if you like the article, click on the little thumbs up icon at the top
of the page.

If you want to laugh, you might relate to my latest blog found at the
bottom of the main blog page on http://www.MasonMetu.com. It's called
"Are you part of the "Parent Paparazzi?"......

Okay, I've rambled enough, here are the upcoming events. For a more
detailed listing go to http://www.masonmetu.com/monthly-top-pics.php
