Just a quick note to tell you all that the Spirit of Mason Fun Ride pre-registration page on Bikereg just went LIVE!


Please review it -- still some more details about this event that will be posted in the coming weeks. But if you see anything that needs to be fixed, please email me directly! ;)

Hey CJ/Paul,

Ok -- I crunched the numbers and reduced the reg to $60 for the 50m, and $40 for the 24m
This increments by $10 on Nov. 19 at midnight, and $10 again on Nov. 26 at midnight -- with reg closing on Nov 29 at midnight.

The TO-DO List (please take initiative and tell me what you're doing):

Permission
-- Final USA Cycling Permit (Fun Ride)
-- Permission to have a tent or whatever by the Statue on Dec. 3rd between 7am and 8am.
-- A parking lot to have everyone park at, prep, and set up registration from 7am to 3pm.

Sponsors for Aid Stations 
-- Aid Station #1 -- Laurel Hill or Possibly Workhouse Parking Lot (Permssion and Sponsor). Could use the parking lot at the Equestrian Center too -- Bikenetic?
-- Aid Station #2 -- Gunston Hall or Possibly Meadowood MTB Trail Parking Lot (right next door to the Elementry School on Gunston Road) -- Permission and Sponsor -- Spokes?
-- Aid Station #3 -- Finish Aid Station #3 (Registration) at Mason -- Permission and Sponsor -- ?? Maybe The Bike Lane to promote Capital Cross?

Gear and Prizes
-- 2-3 Port-o-potties at Aid Station #3 (Mason Registration and Finish)
-- Aid Station Tents
-- Registration Setup + Waivers (USA Cycling)
-- Finisher Medals?? Where? How much? General or Custom?
-- Bib Numbers (Side of body or front of the bike?)
-- Aid Station food, coffee, water, mix

Outreach
-- Outreach to Running Club, Triathlon Club
-- Maybe even the Equestrian Club?  
-- We can help other clubs return. 
-- Go find some Club Sports Friends to be cheering section and aid station help!
-- Outreach to Mason Alumni Association
-- Find Sponsors for prizes and awards

Challenges and Prizes
-- What challenges and where?
-- Challenge Idea #1 -- Mason Field House to Soccer Field TT
-- Challenge Idea #2 -- Burke Lake Campground TT
-- Challenge Idea #3 -- Workhouse Parking Lot Crit TT
-- Challenge Idea #4 -- Gunston Road Power TT (Route 1 checkpoint to Meadowood Parking Lot)
-- Prizes -- Road Bike, Mountain Bike, Fat Bike Finishers (M/F)

Not sure if we're having Race Day Reg... we'll see how it goes.

I think $100 is a bit much if we want to encourage a large number of participants. I've participated in full centuries with full support and even a catered meal at the end which cost less than this. 

I certainly wouldn't pay $100 for this event, no offense.
