I'm not positive I'm doing this right...

Well, I'm here in quasi-sunny San Francisco, hanging out because it's summer.  I currently work as a Research Assistant (I like to say Researcher, it sounds much more important) at the CRGS (Center for Research on Gender and Sexuality) on the Adolescent Sexuality Project, Media Research.  I understand that next semester I'll be moved on over to the Oral Sex Project (which is basiclly investigating this purported phenomenom where young-er girls report GIVING a lot of oral sex, but they don't report GETTING a lot of oral sex) which might be exciting.

I'm on my final (well, 2nd) year of my getting my MA in Human Sexuality.  My thesis is on young women, virginity pledges, and sexual choices, and I'd love to say it's going well but I've been having trouble finding women in the bay area who've taken a virginity pledge!  I know they exist!  I've interviewed at least 2 of them!  blah.

I'm really enjoying school, and have learned so much in the past year it makes my head hurt.  Mainly what makes my head hurt is how LITTLE I know about most things.

I, too, am teetering on the edge of PhD hell in which I need to attempt to pimp myself out to a school (again).  I am not pleased at this idea, but I'm a big fan of school, and I think one of my dream jobs might be "tenured professor".

Okay, that's all lovies.  There's more, there's always more, but I hope all people are doing well.

:o)

I'm in Philadelphia, where I just started a job as The Casting/Literary
apprentice at the Walnut Street Theatre. It's pretty great so far, and
I like the philadelphia atmosphere a lot. I only graduated in June
this year so II lived a lot of the life at Wellesley-- directed the
first production of Richard II this past fall. Wrote a thesis on Early
American Theatre and it's connection to storytelling in creating a
national character. Then I moved to Nantucket, a time spent with the
lovely Alison Buchbinder '05, who i'm convinced got me the job there.
It was lovely- lots of little performances everyday on tours.
Surrounded by history nerds on a beautiful island where the beach was
always an evening option. It was a hard life. ;).

Now I'm working in the theatre, and looking to start my own project
relatively soon. If anyone has any suggestions of work in the public
domain, I'd love to hear about it. Or if you're in philly and you want
to work together. That would also be awesome.

The first week of work my boss and i went up to Northern Jersey to pick
up some musty old chairs, and the whole way back all I could think was
that this smells like shakes. Mmm musty antiques. My favorite :).

Hope all is well!
