Hi Everyone! The APWA is hiring a Program/Research Assistant, please share with your networks! We're looking especially for candidates in Baltimore, fluent in Spanish, and are system-impacted and/or movement-involved. Thank you!
The American Prison Writing Archive is a growing digital archive of non-fiction essays by incarcerated writers
offering testimony to their experiences of confinement and the criminal
justice system. Our goal is to help center the voices of people who
have experienced incarceration in national conversations about criminal
justice and prison, and to preserve these witness testimonies for future
readers.
The APWA is transitioning to its new home at Johns Hopkins University. We are seeking to hire two Program Assistants who
will work in-person in Baltimore, MD. Primary tasks will include
reading submissions, carefully logging submission metadata,
compassionately responding to authors, and filing physical materials.
We are strongly encouraging system-impacted applicants and movement-involved folks who are detail oriented and personally interested in the subject matter of this work. Fluency in Spanish is very welcome as well.
I
would greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer in sharing the
job opportunity with your networks or personally recommending
applicants. We are reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and seek
to begin interviewing for at least one of the two positions by the end
of the month.
Thank you, please be in touch with any questions.
