Masa focuses strongly on classical guitar technique in this
enlightening oeuvre. All aspects of performance are examined; the
goal is to improve musicality, to obtain and maintain proficiency. In
this first volume, Masa dedicates 40 minutes of instruction to
executing superior rest and free strokes. Ito carefully examines the
physics involved, identifies hazardous technique and reproaches
misleading advice, especially regarding tremolo. Masa features
Tárrega's famous composition "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" as the basis
for his discussion on tremolo.
