Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) Admissions! If you live in New York City and your child is turning 4 years old in 2014, he or she is eligible to attend a free pre-k program beginning this September 2014.

Pre-k programs are available at public schools and community-based organizations (CBOs). You can apply to programs at public schools and CBOs through two separate processes. A list of both public school and CBO pre-k programs will be available in the 2014-2015 Pre-Kindergarten Directory in early March. As you start thinking about applying to pre-k, please keep in mind the following important details:

Public School Pre-K Programs
- Apply between March 3, 2014 - April 1, 2014
- Apply online or in-person at an Enrollment Office starting March 3, 2014
- There is no advantage to applying early. All applications submitted by the deadline will be processed at the same time.

Community-Based Organization (CBO) Pre-K Programs
- CBOs manage their own admissions; contact CBOs directly to apply.
- Admissions policies vary by CBO
- Applications are reviewed and processed on an ongoing basis until all seats are filled.

Pre-K Information Sessions
Attend an information session to learn about pre-k admissions for September 2014. All information sessions will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Pre-K Directory
Directories will be available in early March at public elementary schools with pre-k, Enrollment Offices, and online through the pre-k website. The directory will serve as your guide to pre-k admissions and the program options available to your child.
