Titill: Random planar maps

Ágrip: We will survey the (mathematical) theory of random planar maps. Born in the

early 2000s and motivated by theoritical physics, combinatorics and

geometry, this field has been growing considerably. The main goal is to

understand the large scale geometrical structure of random planar graphs

(or maps) as their sizes go to infinity. Last year, Le Gall and Miermont

showed that a random continuous surface arises at the limit: The

Brownian map.
