Dear colleges,
Friday August 24 in VR-II-157 at 15:00 we have a talk:
Speaker: François David,

Title: Random matrix ensembles for quantum spins and decoherence
Abstract: I present a class of new random matrix ensembles relevant
for the study of quantum decoherence for quantum spins.
These ensembles generalize the standard GUE and GOE ensemble.
For a single quantum spin j coupled to an environment (open quantum
system), these ensembles lead to exact solutions for the dynamics of
decoherence and for quantum diffusion, including the non-markovian
regimes and a description of the quantum to classical transition.
Generalizations to closed quantum systems of interacting quantum spins
will be discussed.
With greetings,
