How do I create the images to use with Marzipano tool online?

I'm a bit lost and was thrown into this so thank you for the help.  I shot a "panorma" photo from my iphone and I'm looking for a tutorial or way to create it in the format needed so I can upload it to Marzipano to create my first tour.  Any help would be appreciated.

For the marzipano tool your image needs to be in exact 2:1 ratio, that
is the width in pixels must be double the height. And it must be in
equirectangular projection. I don't know what the iphone produces, but
decent stitching programs like PTGui (commercial) or hugin (open source)
give that output. They also can convert between projections...

My first adventures with 360 images were with my theta sc2, a "cheap" 360 camera. A 360 cam takes away a lot of work. You might want to consider one...
