Hello All,

Have you noticed that the default opening view does not work in Chrome?

Like when you have set an opening scene view on your 360° image… it opens on that view on every browser… but on Chrome, it always opens looking down?

E.G: Try opening this in both firefox and in chrome: https://reubsvision.mu/Mauritius360.html?visit=Maconde

Does anyone know where I should start looking to try to resolve that issue?

Cheers,

Reuben

Hi Reuben,

To assess this problem I would look into two things:
1) The 360 pictures
2) The data.js file

I created a simple tour based on two images:
Now, when you open the images in firefox or chrome, they both look the same.

1) Can you link one one of your panorama photos? How are they oriented? Downwards? Mine are taken straight horizon level. The default opening view is simply based on the way the panorama photo is taken. Now when I change the InitialView per image in the tour, both Chrome and Firefox are correctly showing . For example this page looks initially another way that the default view: https://www.ouija-shop.com/hellothere/secretplace/
      "initialViewParameters": {
        "yaw": -2.499189661687172,
        "pitch": 0.9047884857514781,
        "fov": 1.3926760049349705

      },

2) Can you link an example of one of your data.js files? Are there any initialViewParameters?

Good luck,
Joost

Hello Joost,

Many thanks for reverting back quickly…

My pictures are oriented with the horizon in the center of the image.

I also have the initial view parameters set as correctly as well.

      "faceSize": 5750,

      "initialViewParameters": {

        "yaw": 1.1281785478891884,

        "pitch": 0.3081588783601532,

        "fov": 1.3895836364382377

      },

I will send you the datafile and sample image privately in a few seconds …

The thing is, the tour works well in firefox and safari… it’s only in chrome where it defaults to looking down, irrespective of the initialViewParameters… interestingly enough this happens only for the first image being loaded… the other images on the menu load fine.

Sending you the requested files.

Regards,

Reuben
