Hi --

I've modified the Marzipano for myself as surely many did:
Added target(yaw, pitch, zoom) as needed for any other paths than linear&one-directional ones; as well as vary the label of hyperlinks for more or less the same reason (because just like view angle, label should depend on where you come from, e.g. "to the top" vs "to the valley" can point to the same location).
Added crosshairs and a box showing current yaw, pitch, zoom etc (to help adjusting existing positions and target-yaw/pitch, or insert new hotspots).

I've sometimes added a new location to an existing tour:
Now I have to either completely redo the tour from memory, then do the manual alterations (see first paragraph); or make a two-image 'tour' (new image plus a dummy to hyperlink towards), to get at least coordinates of new hotspots easily, plus the tiles --- but the naming is very annoying (it's a second 'image-0') and hence inserting.

Now, what would make my life easier would be a modified Marzipano Tool that
(a) reads in existing tours --- so no need to redo a whole tour when inserting a new location,
(b) deals with my added features --- e.g. preview "target pitch+yaw" for hyperlinks

When looking on Github I don't see it; I see a few half-hearted, mostly solo, attempts at replicating the Tool. Would it be possible to be made available on request or so?

All the best,
M

Hi,
or use the instructions provided there to make your own copy of the tool.
Note that when you make a copy from the official website https://www.marzipano.net/tool/ it currently lacks this commit
https://github.com/neuhaus/marzipano-tool/commit/632b589da0dc09e901027d02df803857d31362e8
that fixes this issue:
https://github.com/google/marzipano/issues/473

Enjoy!

We wrote Marzipano Tool earlier this year with Claude Opus enhancing it as a full CMS with CDN integration. It's really only for our specific use case so it's not something we can share.

But most SOTA AI coding models from the past 3~4 months should be able to tackle this.

That's a pity.  Would love to see it.

It's not too hard to create an offline version. I did this a while back as I was afraid of the tool going offline. I also made a few tweaks to it to adjust image quality. You are best to use the github link shared previously though.

Is there someone who can share the flow/tools needed to create a running version of Marzipano?

I would like to see some kind of instruction as I would like to create a local GUI/application for windows. And of course share it later on…
(Im unfortunately not into github).

Im looking into creating an application that generates all the images and the data.json file (which are the two dynamic parts of Marzipano)

Thx
Joost

I do have a copy on my server (like you, to preserve), but tommy-au seemed to have a more complete CMS.

Hope you can get it working Joost.  Good to hear from you.

Neuhaus Github links 404 now.  :(

Hello all,

I'm working on a new version of Marzipano, I call it "Marzipano: Reloaded". It is currently version 0.1. First goal is to replicate the original and do the same including some small changes.
Functionalities included so far;
- You can create projects, save them, and later on continue work on them
- Tours can be exported, same structure as the current Marzipano exports.
- Currently holds possibility to create info hotspots, scene navigation links with target yaw/pitch/fov, youtube embed videos, 3d objects embedded)
- Settings: mouse control mode (drag/QTVR), Auto-rotate, show control bar, show panorama list, transition effect for pano's.
- MP3 background music.

My question: what other functionality would you like to see in a reloaded version?

Thanks for your input in advance,
Joost

1. A first page welcome splash screen, that introduces the tour, the place and the owners text / video welcoming visitors.
2. I would *love* to have a before after / view toggle for a 'single scene' in a wider tour.  It would need to retain the pitch and yaw as you toggle between the before / after or day / night etc.   I sometimes do pub refurb and this would be ideal.
3. A 'how to' dialogue box, that's device adaptive and always available, to explain how to use the tour functionality - pinch to zoom (on mobiles) or scroll to zoom (on desktops), menu, info points etc.
4. Youtube embed GUI that appear within the scene rather than in an info point (I know we can do this already within the code, but it's a bind to work out the coordinates)
5. Floor-plans, which have already been done at https://download.oscvev.de/vchorfest/360/ or even openstreetmap integration.
6. Menus with sub menus items (again, we already use this extensively from within the code for our larger tours, but a GUI would make it so much easier).
7. Next / previous buttons perhaps.  Though I hate them.
8. Link directly to a particular scene at start.  For example, a swimming pool in a wider school tour.  That way the pool page at the site can have the tour at their page with the pool showing.  Again, easy to do in code, but a gui interface would be great.
9. Corner logos via GUI.  (again, easy in code.....)

If you need a beta tester...
