A QUESTION OF FULFILLMENT

Someone once told me,"people will let you down, but your work wont". You know when you think about it, it's pretty sad isn't it? To be so devoid of faith and hope in humanity, to live by a set of beliefs such as this. Yet, many of our vaulted role models live life this way. In turn countless numbers follow blindly in their aspirations.
There comes a point where your life has to be more than just work. I've often said: balance is everything. I've devoted seven years of my life to this business. Sacrificed many opportunities for happiness, convincing myself, life is a trade off. A few of us come to a point an realize, if you don't have anyone to share it with, what's the point? Others when faced with the question or the challenge of filling the void, use the surrogates of more work, drugs or even alcohol. All you have to do is look at Hollywood to see, the latter is a path to failure. The harder you run from what is chasing you, the quicker you arrive, no where.
At the end of the day, it comes down to a matter of balance and finding the "one thing" which makes it all worth while. A life solely devoted to 'providing' and achievement, is perhaps no life at all.
