Good morning Student Affairs Colleagues,
I am excited to announce that the CARE office is launching a new training, the Violence Intervention Ambassador (VIA) Program, this semester. This training is ideal for students who are passionate about preventing sexual and relationship violence, and who would like to learn more about preventing power-based violence on campus!
The VIA program is a 10 hour, 3 session virtual training that will equip students with tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent power-based violence on our campus, and in our world. The training will cover topics including interpersonal and systemic violence, bystander intervention, supporting a survivor, social change, student activism, and self-care.
Completion of the VIA program will provide students with a VIA Certification, volunteer and leadership opportunities with CARE, unique continuing education opportunities and events, professional development, and intervention skills and a community of students passionate about this issue.
The application is open, and will remain so until the program start date!
I have attached a flyer that you are welcome to share with students and other campus partners who may be interested. It would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Charlotte Sheffield
