Thank you to everyone who was involved in one or both of the two searches we completed in the past few weeks. They were exceptionally competitive searches and each proved to be an extremely difficult selection process! I am thrilled to announce two new hires within Fraternity and Sorority Life!!
Stephanie Patterson will be joining our team on September 7th as the new Assistant Director for Housing! Stephanie is coming from Bowdoin College where she served as Associate Director of Residential Education for the past three years. Before that, she served two years as a Residential Life Coordinator at Goucher College in Towson, MD, and another two years as Area Coordinator at John Carroll University before that. Stephanie received her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication from Miami University and her Master's Degree in Media and Communication Studies from Florida State University. I hope you will join us in welcoming Stephanie to the team when you meet her this Fall!
We are also excited that Tyler Huddleston will be transitioning from his current role and assuming the responsibilities of the Assistant Director for Advising and Programming on September 7th. As many of you know, Tyler has served as a Coordinator for Advising and Programming for the past two years following two years as a Graduate Resident Director with DFSL. Tyler received Bachelor's Degrees from Emporia State University in Communication and in Spanish before coming to Maryland to get his Master's Degree in Student Affairs. He is currently enrolled in a second Master's Degree program in Behavioral and Community Health. I encourage you to congratulate Tyler on this well-deserved promotion!
We still have three full-time positions open in the Department, so don't be surprised if you get an email from us again soon asking you to take part in another interview process! And thanks again to everyone who was involved in helping us select these two new superstars!
Best of luck as we all start this new semester,
Matt
