Hello, all!
I hope your semester is going well! I am sending information about your requirement to complete a New Member 101 session with your new members/interests this semester. We are continuing this programming online for this semester, and all chapters conducting intake or new member education must complete this requirement. If you do not have new members this semester, you do not need to complete New Member 101.
This semester, your chapter will still be expected to complete a New Member 101 session with your new members (as per the DFSL Recognition and Chapter Expectations Policy). In order to provide chapters with flexibility, we have pre-recorded the session so that you can weave it into the first few weeks of your new member education program when it is convenient for you. Your Intake Coordnator/New Member Educator will need to confirm the date when you have completed the New Member 101 presentation with your chapter coach to ensure it is added to your chapter expectations tracking document.
You should be able to share your screen via Zoom (or another software) and pause the video in the places indicated to have intentional conversation with your new members. The only additional information you will need to collect prior to the session is your organization's values and mission statement to share with new members.
Upon completion of NM 101, your new member educator will need to complete a completion form at https://go.umd.edu/NM101.
Don't hesitate to reach out to your chapter coach with any questions! Thank you!
