Dear Maryland Math Teacher Educators,

I hope you had a relaxing winter break and joyful holiday season. I wanted to share a few announcements from the  Association of Maryland Mathematics Teacher Educators

  1. Our annual Early Career Teacher Conference will be held this Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the University of Maryland. We have four rounds of concurrent sessions planned as well as a keynote address by the Maryland Beginning Teacher of the Year, Laura King. If you have not yet registered, please do so ASAP at https://www.memberplanet.com/events/ammte/ectc2025. We ask that you:
    1. Encourage your preservice teachers to attend
    2. Encourage novice teachers to attend
    3. Share the attached flyer with your contacts in local school systems

NOTE: Representatives from educator preparation programs and other professional organizations are welcome to register for the conference and bring flyers/giveaways for distribution on tables in the conference's keynote room.

  1. Thank you to all the AMMTE members who voted on the changes to our constitution and bylaws. All 3 changes passed.
  2. We are currently seeking nominations for President-Elect. Please reach out to any board member if you are interested or have questions about the position.

I hope to see many of you at the Early Career Teacher Conference this Saturday!

Best,

Ming Tomayko

President, AMMTE
