A nationwide group of high school teachers is meeting in Baltimore the
week of July 25 to study the 1877 railroad strike. They create amazing
projects about the strike.
On Thursday, July 28, they will be walking from their base at the
Hyatt Regency (nothing is too good for the workers!) at 8:30 a.m. to
Camden Yards and then on to the Irish Railroad Workers Shrine. At
Camden Yards, I will give a short description of the strike and
announce the campaign to have a historical marker for the strikers put
at Camden Yards. As part of their program, all of the teachers will
write supporting letters.
If you want to join them/us for any or all of the program, it will
finish up at the B & O museum around noon with lunch.
