Hi Cru,

Check out these updates and announcements!

1. CRU- CRU MEETING CANCELLED THIS WEEK DUE TO UNIVERSITY CLOSING. We have sent an email to all parents who RSVP'd for Parent Night tomorrow letting them know that Cru is cancelled and inviting them to come instead on Thursday, March 26th. Please let your parents know this update as well. Additionally, stay tuned on email and Facebook as some students may decide to host an informal Cru gathering tomorrow night.

2. BIG BREAK- Want to trade the snow and ice for the sunny beaches of Florida? Want to take steps of faith to grow in your relationship with God? Come with us to Big Break! If you are interested, please sign-up ASAP at www.big-break.com! All the normal spots are full but you can still register as a commuter. If you do that please email Brian...@cru.org to let him know so that we can work on finding you alternate hosing with us. If money is an issue, we may be able to help. Email david...@cru.org if you have financial questions. See you in Florida!

3. LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS- New Leaders: Leadership Applications are now available for those of you who are interested in leading within Cru next year for the first time (this includes leading a freshman community plant, upperclassmen community groups, servant team, worship team and Bridges). If you are unsure, please feel free to reach out to the staff. You can find our contact information here: http://www.marylandcru.com/who-we-are.html Here is the link to the online application: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015MDCru. They need to be completed by March 13. Returning Leaders: Your applications were due on March 1st. If you forgot to fill it out do so asap at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015CruReturning.

4. CRU WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB- For 6 weeks after Spring Break, women in Cru are invited to participate in a book club on Friday mornings at 8am in the North Campus Diner where we will begin to think through God’s design for sex and how we as women can glorify Him in our relationships! The Book we will be reading is Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity by Lauren Winner. For those of you who are single, what better time to investigate where you personally will stand in regards to sexuality before you are in a situation where you have to scramble to figure out what God says and how you will live out your beliefs? And for those of you who are currently dating, there is no better time than now to learn how to glorify the Lord in regards to purity in your present relationship. In general, this is extremely important stuff. We (the staff women) care about you and want to create a safe place for women to talk about sexuality and God! Email Lindsay Batts at lindsa...@cru.org to reserve your spot and order your book. Cost is $12.

5. LENT JOURNEY TO THE CROSS- The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are at the very heart of Christianity. The good news of the gospel is that God has acted in history to conquer evil and reconcile sinners to himself through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Check out the Lent Devotional Guide attached to this email to help you draw closer to Him during this time! The staff team read one of these today and it's solid!

6. SUMMER MISSIONS- The last deadline to apply for Summer Missions was February 24th but there's still room to join Penley's at TriLife in Jacksonville and Julia in Ocean City, MD. See this link for more details: http://www.cru.org/opportunities/mission-trips/summer.html

Have a wonderful day!
