Hey Cru!

Read on to discover all the wonderful opportunities available to you this week:)

1. CRU- Come out to Armory 0126 at 8pm for Cru. Tricked you last week when I said that Fred Andre would be speaking on Walking in the Spirit...because Brian actually spoke. BUT this week for real, we're bringing in Andre!!

2. AUSSIE FUN NIGHT- This Friday night at 8pm in Oakland basement,  you are invited to an evening of fun and food with an Aussie theme as you learn more about Maryland Cru's partnership with students down under in Melbourne. We will provide a typical "morning tea" snack, play a game of team trivia (study up on your Australia facts!), hear about what is happening with Cru in Melbourne, and end the evening with a movie.

3. BIG BREAK- TOMORROW at Cru 2/19, wear your most beachy attire as we mentally transport ourselves to a warmer place. Mark your calendars and register for Cru's Spring Break Conference from March 13th-21st. Register asap at http://big-break.com/main/. Spots fill up fast. The conference registration cost is $329 not including transportation and groceries. If money is an issue please email me or talk to one of the staff members.  

4. CRU WORSHIP TEAM SEEKING MUSICIANS- If you play the cajon/box drum or the bass, we are looking for you! If you are interested in serving with Cru for the rest of the Spring semester, contact Heidi at heidi....@cru.org for application and audition information. Deadline to apply: Thursday, February 19th (tomorrow).

5. LENT JOURNEY TO THE CROSS- The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are at the very heart of Christianity. The good news of the gospel is that God has acted in history to conquer evil and reconcile sinners to himself through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Lent, therefore, is about living out of our union with, and identity in, Christ. Lent is first and foremost about the gospel making its way deeper into our lives. Check out the Lent Devotional Guide attached to this email to help you draw closer to Him during this time!

6. SUMMER MISSIONS- The last deadline to apply for Summer Missions is February 24th but some projects fill up before that. Get your applications in ASAP so you have the best opportunity to go (especially ladies since your spots fill up fastest!). There's still room to join Penley's at TriLife Jacksonville, and Julia at Ocean City and maybe the Batt's in Oz? Especially guys!! http://www.cru.org/opportunities/mission-trips/summer.html. Check out these updates and announcements!

1. CRU- You don't want to miss Cru this week as The Traveling Team will be there as guest speakers. Come to Armory 0126 at 8pm for a very special Cru this week where we will host the Traveling Team to share with us God's amazing plan for the entire world. I still vividly remember what they said when they came when I was a student! 

2. BIG BREAK- Want to trade the snow and ice for the sunny beaches of Florida? Want to take steps of faith to grow in your relationship with God? Come with us to Big Break! If you are interested, please sign-up ASAP at www.big-break.com! SPOTS WILL LIKELY FILL UP IN THE NEXT 2 DAYS! Price is $329. If money is an issue, we can loan or scholarship you! 3. LEADERSHIP INFO SESSION- If you are interested in holding a leadership position with Cru next year come to an informational session before Cru this week. We will meet outside Armory 0126 at 7pm and then go to a classroom to share the leadership application process and answer any questions you may have! 

4. MISSION REVOLUTION- The Traveling Team will be speaking at Cru on Thursday. On Sunday, they will be expanding on God’s heart for the nations at Mission Revolution at  The Well Community Church from 1-4 PM. 5. CRU WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB- For 6 weeks after Spring Break, women in Cru are invited to participate in a book club on Friday mornings (9am-1030am) where we will begin to think through God’s design for Sex and how we as women can glorify Him in our relationships! The Book we will be reading is Real Sex: The Naked Truth about Chastity by Lauren Winner. Email Lindsay Batts at lindsa...@cru.org to reserve your spot and order your book. Cost is $12.
