Hi Everyone,
We had a couple of issues present themselves at Aloha Wednesday
this week and we need to discuss them.
First up the box office people were asking, per my request, for
student ID from ALL of the MMET students, performers and non-
performers alike. Unfortunately due to a lack of communication on my
part many of the kids didn't have their ID with them on Wednesday.
They were still allowed in at no charge but some of the students were
surprised and some even annoyed by the request for ID. I don't blame
them, they were never told and as I said before I take complete
responsibility for that.
So let this serve as formal notice, and I will make sure a reminder
goes out, all MMET students must have their ID with them (performing
or not) to gain entrance for free into an MMET second stage show.
With 150 students in MMET and 40 new students this year it is becoming
impossible to recognize everyone. Thanks so much for your
cooperation.
The second issue also involves ID. On Wednesday Don the Beachcomber
was left with three unpaid bills all belonging to students. The
amounts were not large and neither Cynthia (our lead server at Don’s)
nor I feel that these bills were unpaid purposely. In two of the
cases Cynthia said she thinks the kids thought another parent was
picking up the tab and the third was simply forgotten about. To
resolve this issue when a student is ordering anything from Don’s the
servers are going to ask for a student ID to hold and attach to the
order. That way the student clearly knows he/she is responsible for
the bill and in the event that someone forgets to pay, the restaurant
will know who to contact. This has never happened before and we do
believe it was just simple confusion and forgetfulness. That said, if
by receiving this email your memory has been jarred, and it was you
who didn’t pay, please stop by Don’s and take care of it. Thanks so
much!
Don’t forget the parent meeting this Tuesday October 12th at 7 PM in
the MMET classroom/studio. We have some important issues that Mr.
Knight will be discussing.
See you soon,
Mary and Diane
