Karl Marx was an extreme communist influence, even after he died in
1883. This is a result of over fifty years of Cold War propaganda. The
twentieth century was largly defined by the struggles between
Captialism and Communism. Communism was a critical factor that lead to
WWII and it had a major effect on America itself (being a Captialist
country) during the twentieth century, we were defined as a country by
anti-communist policies. One of these policies were the opposition to
historical materialism- this looks for the causes of developments and
changes in human society in the means by which humans collectively
produce the necessities of life.

There is a whole lot to look up on the web about Karl Marx. Yes, there
are alot of resources that say pretty much the same thing, but when I
mean repetition in our discussion, I mean, the second post that I
wrote "Marx-Communist", is identical to the last post that was posted
about him "Marx". We need to read each others posts, expand on them,
and elaborate on how "Marxism" and Communism effected the 19th
century...Even after Marx's death, his philosophies were followed by
so many people...he was such a major influence on people's lives. Up
until the 20th century, what was "Marxism" in the world? He paved the
way being the "Father" of Communism...who followed and who did he
influence? What are everyone's thoughts on what he believed and stood
for? We just need to expand that's all. Especially if we need to
discuss this for thirty minutes. We can't all be talking about the
same things. I think I'll go through what he stood for, within
Communism, Religion, etc, and assign each person individually to write
about that specific topic. So that everyone can talk a little on
Monday, and not repeat things. This may be easier, but if someone
wants to comment on what other's wrote that would be great as well! Or
if anyone else has a better idea, that would be great too!

I can go into more detail on some major characters he influenced.
Most notably Lenin, Stalin, and Trotsky
