Non transparency images issue?

I'm creating a multi-layer image based upon a total of 7 images. One of them is a background without any alpha layers. The other 6 are also PNGs but with transparency parts. Now, there seems to be an issue when it comes to rendering the background, is not being to load it up, but the other parts with transparency it works. What's going on? Why is this happening?
