Still worth trying in 2023?

Hello!

Have first heard of maru os back in ~2017-2018 and I was like WOW that's cool, gotta give it a try someday. Now I finally got a spare N5 (took me quite some time, yeah), but is maru still worth installing?

How does the "desktop" part function? Do I understand it correctly that you simply chroot into a debian/ubuntu/whatever rootfs under the hood and that's it? If so, how well does modern day linux userland behave with ancient 3.x android kernels?

What about graphics? Hardware acceleration, hardware video decoding, Wayland?

Searched the maru website for a compatibility list or something like that but no luck.
