I have an idea but not the skill to create it. What I would like to see is a custom rom based on a deGoogled Oxygen OS 11 with Maru OS and perhaps the option to choose between a handful of linux distributions.

I'm a huge OnePlus fan, and my daily is a the OnePlus 8T with Oxygen OS 11 and it's amazing. I prefer to use a deGoogled phone though and my other phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro with Lineage OS 17.1 without gapps. I recently installed Maru OS on the 7 pro and its really neat. Love the concept.

Anyways, if Oxygen OS could be forked and deGoogled and then combined with Maru OS it would be an absolutely amazing rom for something like the 8T with 12gb ram.

I understand this involves a ton of work, but is it even possible?

The OxyenOS is close-source, we can't get its source, and integrate MaruOS to it.
What we can do is to integrate MaruOS to OnePlus based on LOS's OnePlus' device tree, which needs community developers
that have a OnePlus device to integrate.

Man that's a bummer. It's such a nice OS to use. I like LineageOS in every other way, but it's just boring and plain to use/look at. Which I suppose isn't important. But MaruOS is really neat on this OnePlus 7 Pro. I have not been able to try the docking mode yet as I'm waiting on the cord to get here from Amazon.
