This thread is to share free tools you have found that may help other
programs in some way. Please note when you post whether you found the
tool, found the tool and have played with it, or you are actually
using the tool. Each of those three perspectives are important and
readers will want to know more from you depending on how much
experience you have with the tool. Please try to keep the postings
here to free tools. Free trials are cool, but are a tease. Please post
things with free trials under the other discussion thread that has
been started for pay services.

http://www.superteachertools.com/jeopardy/
I discovered this amazing FREE Jeopardy game this past week, and my
students LOVE IT - especially when used on a Smartboard. I created one
for my Math Basics class, and it became the foundation for the very
best quiz review I have ever experienced. There are also thousands of
games for every subject parked on the site that were created by other
teachers. ENJOY!!!

My mid-level reading class has had vocab fun (and learning) with
Visual Thesaurus, but I had to buy a subscription. Here is a free
version, which I found too late... :

and here is a terrific tool for vocabulary: http://www.wordsift.com/
and a youtube to show how to use it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaIb_GNs_U8

Here is an online repository of tools - categorized nicely:

It's a little overwhelming, actually, but worth a look.

Is everyone aware of David Rosen's blog? http://davidjrosen.wordpress.com/
Many tech-related Ad Ed issues discussed here.

Also the NIFL technology listserv is invaluable:

Is anyone using Diigo? http://www.diigo.com/ It looks like it
could be a great way for folks to research/annotate on the web page/
share findings. Feedback from anyone?
