Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva is a mixed martial arts fighter and is the current UFC
Middleweight Champion. He started martial arts when he was 14 years
old. Muay Thai is the style that this man is most well known for,
while he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and in Judo as well.
The Muay Thai Dream Team was started by Anderson.
Silva was born in Brazil as a child and fought in the Mecca
organization in his home country. When Silva went to Japan to fight,
his first was a great win over Shooto Champion, Hayato Sakurai. Not
only did he beat him, but he was the first ever to beat Sakurai for
the Shooto Middleweight Champion.
As for rankings today, he is the top pound-for-pound fighter in the
world. He has been holding his place since the year of 2006, and holds
records for the most consecutive wins in the UFC. Pride Fighting
Championships, Shooto, and Rumble on the Rock are some fights that
Silva has fought in, along with the UFC and Cage Rage.
During November of 2006, the team Black House consisted of Anderson
Silva, Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort, Assuerio Silva and the Nogueira
brothers. He and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira opened the Team Nogueira MMA
Academy for people in Miami, Florida two years later. Anderson Silva
was very successful in the PRIDE Championships, Cage Rage, and the
Ultimate Fighting Championship. He weighs in at two hundred and five
pounds, with a height of six feet, two inches. He continues to fight
today and plans on retiring when his contract with UFC is finished.
