Kicks
In my experiences of fighting I have learned that there are a certain
set of attacks a fighter must know. Fist strike to learn is the front
kick. There are many ways to execute this move. The first way is by
lifting the leg you wish to kick with to the point of a 90 degree
angle. While holding the knee up extend you leg in a snapping motion.
Remember when making contact you should always keep you toes back and
hit with the ball of your feet.
That last version is meant to be kick and make minimal damage. The
next version should be used to push your opponent away from you. In
this move you should start the same except this time lift your knee up
to you chest. Once the opponent is close enough thrust your foot at
them while extending your hip. This is will stop the opponent in there
tracks and possibly push them away.
The next kick is the roundhouse. When lifting you knee as in the front
kick turn your hips the opposite side of the leg lifted and use your
hips to extend your leg. When making contact remember to have your
foot completely extended flat. This kick when done right can cause a
lot of damage.
Punches
The jab is good technique to use to start a combination. The jab
starts off with a closed fist at your stance. Then while twisting your
hip to the inside extend your arm from the front leg to hit. Remember
to keep the knuckles facing up and your rear hand up for protection.
When hook the focus is the keep your shoulder up and punch from inside
your guard. The punch must come around and strike the opponent on the
side. Remember not to bring your arms back before punching because it
could leave you open to be striked upon.
The uppercut punch is a technique were u keep your elbow against your
body and aim your punch under the ribs or chin of your enemy. Using
your hips and legs to drive the punch can make all the difference when
striking effectively.
Elbows and Knees
Elbows and Knees have been known to be some the of the hardest parts
of the body to strike with. These techniques are a main technique for
the Muy Thai fighters in Thailand. Its important to know that the
strike comes from a compact body. The elbow must be in side of the
body and whipped out at the target. The arm must not be extended for
it might slow down the strike.
The knee is a strike were the bent leg is striking. This can been done
while holding the opponent or not. To do this technique you must use
your force to send the strike forward. It is a powerful strike than
help to develop your kicks and gives your hips a good workout.
Conclusion
These are some basic strikes that a person could use in a standing
fight. Using combinations is one the best ways to effectively execute
these strikes in realistic situations.
