Ihave several M602 but this one is giving me trouble. I was working fine then put in storage for several months after some office moves. Last week I when and hooked it back up and it seemed fine. I was able to set it up and connect to the server (W-2012) but after I printed a windows test page I went down and it had printed the page but there was a 46.23.3F error on the screen. Now I cant get it to come up enough to even try and flash the firmware. Any ideas?
not 100% sure, but i think that error is like a 49 corrupt printjob. make sure the print queue is empty, maybe even stop and restart the print spool. disconnect the printer from network, see if it comes to ready and print internal reports. if you can print without error w/ the network disconnected, you probaly have a bad print job or faulty embedded ethernet.
I thought of that. After pulling the power I also pulled the network. After powering back on, I reset to network defaults, upgraded the firmware, set to firmware to FutureSmart 3 and then printed a config page. the page printed but then immediately gave the same error.
Well I replaced the DCC and still have the same issue. It will print one print job and then it gives the error. The FFC looks to be fine. I'm not sure what the Interconnect PCA is and I cant find that part number (HP Part #: RM1-8291-000CN) in the service manual but I'm guessing its the piece that the the other end of the FCC plugs into. I have another one of these printers in a box. I think I'm going to test that one and then, if good, swap the FCC and what I think is the Interconnect PCA.
Do not swap the interconnect pca. You will have 2 bad printers if you do. You never should use a used interconnect board since it contains backup information on your printer. When you replace the interconnect board it should be a new unused part. If now getting a 49 error try connecting the printer with usb to a local computer and see if you can send internal pages like word, etc and not get the error. Most 49 errors are bad print jobs.

Buenas tengobun problema con una impresora la cual le arroja el error 46.23.3F es una impresora LASERJET M4555 MFP, la cual imprimo cuando la prendo pero despus le arroja un error y en los rodillos tiene un ruido
Could you please provide the product that this error code is showing on? If there are other details, such as recently changed printer cartridges, etc., that you could provide to help troubleshoot this issue that would be very helpful. If this issue has been fixed, please let us know.
Thanks for your reply. The device is a HP LaserJet M605. We are using a BarCodeJet HP FutureSmart Host USB device to generate maxicode barcodes. We have 2 HP M605s and we switch the device and we have not experience the same error.
Check to make sure all the cartridges are seated correctly, power cycle the printer, and try to print. If the problem continues, you may have to call HP Support for further trouble shooting of this error code.
At the moment we have 2 printers. It seems to me that there is not definate solution for Error 46.23.3F. I have searched the Internet wihout any luck. Could you please provide a good number to reach out to HP tech support? Thanks.
I upgrade the firware version of my printer, but before that, the printer keeps on the same error: 46.23.3F, i dont know what kind of error was that... Any idea? the firmware version was: 2304070_439665 date: 20150218
An employee's new HP LaserJet 500 Color M551 was giving error code 49.23 CB and saying to turn machine off and on again. Then it would do the same thing again the next time you tried to print. The printer was using a USB connection. I put it on the network and upgraded the firmware the latest version. That went ok. But now i get a similar, but different error 46.23.3F saying to turn off/on. It will print the config settings when executed at the printer, but it wont print anything from a connected PC using USB or LAN. I can connect to the printers interface through the network. Please help if you've seen this before. thank you.
I did two things, and the error went away, so i dont know exactly which one was responsible for fixing it. So try these both. Through the printer menu, i think its in administrator section, select "restore to factory settings". I also did a print configuration throught the web interface setup. I would try the "reset to factory settings" first. it will still keep any firmware updates you've done.
I turned the printer off and on and after someone sends 1 print to the printer it spits out the print, but then immediatly goes into the same error again. I turned the printer off and on a few times and all of a sudden the display on the printer went mental, it started flickering and showing all kinds of strange colours.
I would verify that you have the latest Firmware. While it may have worked fine until recently, there may be other changes in your environment that have affected it. Also, there is a known exploit for viruses to be automatically installed on your printer (I know - weird but true) which may also have happened.
When i reboot the printer and put a ping -t open and as soon as it comes online, i connect, i see all the tabs. I click troubleshooting tab and it goes into a 404 error, and if i walk over to the printer it gives that crappy error message again
Stu, one of the experts on that forum gave the customer instructions on how to update the firmware. However, the customer indicated that the root cause resided in hardware and the printer was replaced. There are others in that same posting who indicate that updating the firmware did resolve the issue.
The print driver we used for this printer was the HP Laserjet 4250 PCL 6 driver. We have the m602 and a 4250 next to each other in a pull queue, and in order to make it work we used both drivers on both printers and this worked like a charm, up untill a few days ago ofc. We switched the 4250 PCL 6 driver for the M602 original driver, installed it and guess what? The printer is runnign smoothly now.
We regret the challenges you have had with your printer but are pleased with your update which indicates that you were able to get it replaced. Finally, the replacement is working. Your situation was indeed odd. Please feel free to contact me if the problem reappears so we can escalate your issue.
I was actually verry pleased whit the service HP gave me, altho i didnt came to a solution whit the HP support agent they were verry kind and willing to help, hope my feedback will help solve similair problem in the future, were all here to help out each other
Since you have not yet received a response from the experts, have you tried the input already given, including contacting HP if the unit is still in warranty. Let me know if you need assistance getting support from within HP. If it is a hardware issue, HP will either replace the printer or the hardware as User465448 has shared in his response. You may want to review a discussion on the HP Forum about the 49.38.07 error even though it is for a different Laserjet. In this discussion some of the root causes were firmware and formatter board.
Sorry to hear that you are having the same problem with your LaserJet printer. If the resolutions offered in this post do not lead to a resolution for you and if you want assistance from HP, please send me via PM your product number, serial number, and contact information. Than I will escalate within HP.
If the printer gives that error when it is first turned on with only the power cable connected taking it to a depot is an option. If that is not the case the issue could be your network or drivers and taking the printer to the depot may not resolve the issue.
