Hi Earl -
I hope all is well! Apologies for the delay in sending
these questions over - I graduate next week so it's been a bit
crazy finishing up the quarter.
Please let me know if I can help in any other way - you and
MARS made such an impact in my life and always happy to repay
the support!
Best,
Tessa
1. Harvard University 2015 Degree in Applied Mathematics
with a focus in Decision Making; Stanford University 2021
Masters in Business Administration (expected 6/7/2021)
2. Chairman's Team & Fundraising / Community Outreach -
I also was on the 1st ever MARS drive team
3. Following my college graduation, I joined Oliver Wyman
as a Management Consultant in Chicago. Over time I developed a
focus in the industrials and airline spaces. I also have spent
some time working in the social impact space. Following my
graduation from Stanford, I will be working for Alpine
Investors, a lower, middle-market Private Equity firm, as the
CEO of a small HVAC company in Chicago
4. For me, MARS was critical in helping me to become a
leader and also changed how I thought about the impact I could
make. I came into MARS as a 9th grader who wasn't exactly sure
who I was or how I fit in. MARS showed me that there was not
only space but a need for me to be smart, bold, and driven.
The team, but particularly Earl, gave me the mentorship and
the support to take on new challenges, to lead people, to
dream up big ideas, to figure out how in the world to
implement them, and to recognize just how large the impact we
could make as a rag-tag bunch of teenagers was. Those are many
of the same skills that have made me successful in the 10
years that have followed.
5. There are far too many funny stories to write down from
Earl missing our first ever team photo after we won Rookie
Inspiration to wearing a cardboard robot mascot through the
streets of Atlanta. What I really remember from MARS though
are the laughs, friendship, and just hanging out that occurred
in the Phil's office in the old Hodges Hall and the hours we
spent roaming the halls of Hodges driving robots, singing,
coming up with ideas and so much more!
I hope this is helpful!
