yes so sad i had seen him earlyer this summer at the track working with the ITS civic had no clue there was any problem. nice guy always helpfull.

I'm very saddened to hear this.  It was Matt who got me into motorsports - in the early 2000's he took me to a few autocrosses (Ft. Meade MD IIRC) and then once the hook was set, assisted with locating my first race car ('73 2002),  he even raced that car before I did because I didn't have a comp license yet.  We drifted apart over the last 10-years but I would check in with him occasionally or bump into him at Summit or some other club-related event.  I knew of his medical issues and thought he had it under control - his death comes as a great surprise and I hope this ends whatever suffering he may have been going through.
