I had downloaded Goggle Chrome yesterday (09/02/08) and used it for a
number of hours...

I was hesitant to do so as I am never fond of "beta" releases.
To my surprise I was impressed with what they put together...That
wasn't hard to do as I didn't expect much from Google's traditional
"minimalist" design.
For a simple browser to just navigate pages...IT ROCKS. Super fast,
really snappy, loads amazingly quick (1/4-1/3 the time of IE and FF),
simple install...I like it. I love the new features of the address
bar...super cool. I was on all my normal social networking sites (and
others) and it worked w/o a hitch.
Now being a "beta" release there are some issues:
It can't make/view "pages" in Google groups
Sites that need 3rd party apps...like for streaming video,
etc.....stuff like that, it does not work
...other small compatibility issues.
Overall, I give Google Chrome a B+...that's a thumbs-up on the Beta
Version. While there are certainly kinks to work out, especially for
power users, as a basic browser (speed & ease of use) it exceeds
Internet Explorer7 and Fire Fox 3. I am anxiously excited to see
Chrome evolve. I would not say YOU NEED to download it now….you just
don’t. But you do need to keep it on your radar.
I am happy to field any questions….post on the group or send directly
to the email below.
