This board is not about me bout how I and others can help you with any
questions or challenges regarding internet market.. Please be
specific. What you do, your site, what you have done in the past, and
what you would like to do, particular budget, etc.

Please don't send general questions like; "Chris...tell me how to make
$1MM online in a year with zero starting capital."

The more specific you are about your circumstances...the more specific
and targeted I (and others) can be. Help us help you.

Please also review some of the "articles" we have posted on our
website below. They cover web design, web hosting, web
marketing...and much more.

Thanks,
Christopher Moore

Thankyou Chris for the invite.

Many topics to develope, but shall approach one for now.

I am interested in owning and operating a drop ship business online
where I receive products to retail at "distributor prices, not
wholesale". Where the "reliable good reputation" drop shipper
includes a website for me to use, a modern computer marketing system/
program, handles the warehousing, order taking, money transactions,
returns, claims, and has a telephone number not a ticketing system,
and where even though marketing is keen on the net, there is still
room to profit.? I currently own an online drop ship biz with all of
the above, but am not impressed with the over priced so called
"wholesale" costs, the antiquated frustrating system for owners to
access products, and the ticketing process. I would also like to
preview prices, before I pay out any money. Riley

That is a great question Riley...!

While I certainly am not a referral source for drop-shippers…I can
give you some heads-up things to look for with regard to web
marketing.

Often times these wholesalers will simply give you a replicated
version of their site, but with your information. They work well for
product / inventory management, shopping cart, and customer support…
bur often fall short in the abilities to market.

The first cornerstone of marketing online is submitting your site to
the 4 primary search engines as they represent the majority of the
market:

Google (67%)
Yahoo (20%)
MSN / Microsoft (7%)
ASK (4%)

As you can see that is approximately 98% of all searches….so don’t
worry about the other 2%

This MUST be done by hand…not some automated system.

But there is a lot that goes into it to be successful. Unfortunately
most of the “replicated” sites don’t allow much flexibility or ability
to make necessary changes to rank better on the search engines.

Other disadvantages are that they usually don’t allow you to write
articles or post back-links…2 other beneficial ways of generating
traffic.

Second, You can always utilize “Pay-Per-Click” advertising like
Google Adwords…but keep in mind only 35 % of internet traffic will
click on the “Pay-Per-Click” or “Sponsored” Links. That reduces your
entire market by 65% if you rely on “Pay-Per-Click” advertising alone.

Third…While many feel that press releases are antiquated…they are a
VERY successful tool in web marketing especially if you have something
that is fresh, new or exciting…in other words will create a BUZZ!

Blogs and forums are beneficial tools in marketing sites…but beware…
owners of blogs and forums want relevant dialog posted…not an
advertisement for your wares. So join forums with topics where you
can be an expert…give good info…and plug yourself.

Affiliate programs work GREAT for retail sales sites as visitors will
be more inclined to refer you if there is a little love for
them….unfortunately most “replicated” sites do not have an affiliate
component installed or available.

Social Bookmarking is relatively new in the last 2-3 years…in a
nutshell…it helps people find your site more quickly…the more it is
bookmarked by others…the more relevant and easier it is to find you.

Backlinks are important…do not get this confused with “reciprocal
links”, which can often be frowned upon by the search engines.
Backlinks are links from highly rated sites that will include you on
their “links” or “resources” page. Reciprocal Links are
essentially…”I’ll add you if you add me” links. Several years ago…
that was a hot thing…but the search engines continually get smarter.

You could always come up with a catchy video(s) and post them on a
number if sites like YouTube…This can be very effective, but there are
several things to look for.

Catchy Title and Thumbnail
Short, short, short
Timely
Not Overproduced (real feel)
Engaging intro
Funny, quirky, shocking
…and a surprise ending

It has to have that “Hey…have you seen this video” coolness about it.

And last but not least…Social Networking. Sites like Facebook,
Linkedin, Myspace, etc are the rage…and it is the wave of the future
in internet marketing. There is soooo much to write about social
networking that I can’t contain it in this email…If others are
interested in social networking…review the files I have posted…then
ask questions.

The best solution is a site that you have had made and can customize…
Unfortunately, customized sites are not cheap.

I hope this helps…at least a little bit.

Regarding typos...they happen. Just goes to show, while we may be
experts in one field (or more)...we are not perfect. Once a message
is posted...it is there for good unless a moderator chooses to remove
the entire message.

The good news is that those on this board have the character of being
patient and understanding with one another…even with our mistakes.

Thank God we don’t instant message each other frequently…you would
really see how bad my typing can be. Ask Tom! Praise God for spell
check…unfortunately, it misses some grammatical errors.

If you take anything from this site…take the assistance and
encouragement regarding marketing online not the occasional misspelled
words.
