Hey, I just want to start off by saying that makdown here is wonderful, and I use it all the time to help me format emails that I send to customers.

However, One feature that I would really like to use is the check before sending feature. This would allow me to insert a markdown footer in my email signature and have various links available to me whenever I write an email. However, the feature has never worked for me, so I am hesitant to add the footer in my email signature since I think I will keep forgetting to convert the email to markdown, and then customers I correspond with will consistently see a very long footer that has nothing to do with our correspondence.

I am using a gmail account that is part of an enterprise domain, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I would really like to use the render check feature. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to enable it.

I’m curious how long “never” means for you?

I’ve been using Markdown Here for almost four years now, and I only noticed this behavior upon returning to Gmail recently (after several years of using Inbox, which Google has announced it’s shutting down). Inbox didn’t have this issue (although, testing it now, it seems like it has the opposite problem—it warns me when I have toggled Markdown Here and am viewing rich text and not Markdown.
The warning has always been a bit stochastic, since it has to guess whether you mean to write Markdown or not. But it does seem lately to not be happening at all in Gmail.

Only 3 months, sorry for the hyperbole.

Perhaps it has something to do with the new gmail ui?

It always worked for me (last 2 years) and today I sent one email with clearly markdown text and I did not receive the notification. The recipient was confused.

I'm using Gmail, with the new look, on the latest Chrome.

There is an open issue on github. I will try to investigate more over the holidays.
