YUDH 2012 The battle continues …..

We came, We saw and We conquered the hearts and imagination of the people with ‘YUDH

2011’. A year later we are all set to roll out our magic and respond to everybody’s anticipation

in the most scintillating, stunning and sensational fashion to make it one of a kind spectacle.

With more than 50 colleges competing for the prestigious “College of the year” trophy, all the

contests promise to be out and out classics. The various events of the festival encompass

virtually the whole of the city. With some of the best venues chosen for the various events, it

provides a universe of possibility for the various athletes to show their mettle.

This year YUDH isn’t just a battle that’s about to begin, it’s a war that’s already begun. The

battlefield is a host of venues comprising of grounds such as:

1. Karnataka Grounds – One of if not the best football grounds in the city.

2. Matunga Gymkhana – One of the best cricket pitches in the City.

3. Khar Gymkhana – A host of sporting activities and a hub for budding sportspersons.

4. National College – With a “baddy” court having the traditional Cage Football, and also

the basketball court, our friendly neighbors always lend us a hand.

5. TSEC campus – Indoor sports and a host of fun filled activities to be held here.

6. Hoopers – Well if you wanna play some ball, this place sure gives you a chance to show

off your basketball skills to your max.

Here’s a list of sports that you could be a part of by participating in YUDH 2012 :

Cricket - As professional as it gets, with Matunga Gymkhana playing host to few of our

finest young talents in the academic world.

Football – 11 a-side football played at Mumbai’s finest football grounds, it promises to

be a spectacle. With the EPL fever growing rapidly, our very own TPL if you could call it

promises to give you fast paced competitive action, hard tackles and a whole load of

money to be won.

Cage Football (Girls & Boys) – It has been one of TSEC’s most popular events in the

years gone by. With huge crowds coming in it promises to be no less of a YUDH than it

already is.

Basketball (Girls & Boys) – With the growing interest for the sport across the country,

India’s busiest city promises to produce India’s finest BBallers and YUDH gives them the

perfect platform.

Lawn Tennis - If you have got surgeon’s precision ,agility, improvisation to upset

opponent’s strategy and burning desire to hear those three words of triumph Game, Set

and match then ace up your serves and polish off your forehands in most awaited tennis

tournament of the year to drive away glory for your college.

Badminton (Girls & Boys) - With Saina Newhal ruling the roost in the international

badminton arena, badminton enjoys popularity like never before. So get ready with your

powerful smashes and delicate net returns to outshine your opponent. All it takes is all

you have got!

Table Tennis - They say, “The definition of incompetence is when it’s predictable”. The

Sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight, hollow ball back and forth using

table tennis rackets demands quick reactions and you to be as fleet as a gazelle.

Chess (Team) - The game of strategy, the game of intellectuals and the game that

pampers the grey cells of the players is here. Use your rooks, bishops and knights to

work out all the strategies and outwit your opposition to attain the ultimate gloryfor

your empire.

Carrom (Team) - Craftily flick off your fingers to pocket all the coins and cover the queen

in the most intriguing indoor sport known to us.

Volleyball - ‘Team work is dream work’. This is the idea the teams need to emulate into

their play if they are to pose any threat to their opponents in this wonderful sport

requiring team chemistry, coordination and cooperation of the highest order. So get

your forces organized, LIFT yourselves up and SMASH off your opponents to exult with

triumph.

Throwball - All you need to do is throw the ball at greased lightning speed and then

catch the one coming at you with about the same pace. Get rid of all your dubs and

twists and come out all guns blazing to serve the goods and smash all the returns

Well besides just representing your college, you can also come in and play our OPEN

EVENTS which are for everyone no matter what college you belong to. With prizes even

bigger this year, these fun events a sure shot chance for you to earn self glory and pride

amongst competitors. Let’s have a look at them:

Pool - With an exponential increase in popularity and a great arousal of interest among

young technocrats, POOL promises to be an absolute cracker!! So get your strategies in

place to cannon off your opponent and pocket victory for your college.

Anti-Chess – A good sacrifice is not one that is necessarily sound but one that leaves

your opponent dazed and confused. This is the crux of Anti-Chess, in defeat lays the

victory !!

SportsBug (Cricket and Football Quiz) – Did you know that Ashley Giles is the only

bowler to get Tendulkar stumped or that the Salt Lake Stadium is the largest in the

world ?? If you did, then come and pamper your grey cells in one of the most intriguing

cricket and football quiz of the season at YUDH 2012 and bag away some real exciting

prizes.

Freestyle Football – Think you got those Ronaldoesque skills that define you. Are the

Ronaldinho of old times who tricks and flicks set him apart. Well if you are this is the

event for you.

Free Hoops – Well if you wanted to play some BBall or ever wanted to impress some

with your basketball skills we give a chance to come in and throw in some hoops as this

“NBA All Star Weekend” analogous promises to give a chance to work on those BBall

skills.

So with YUDH 2012 all set and ready, it’s you whose going to make this event that hit

that it deserves to be. That being said we hope to see you along with a hoard of your

friends coming in participating and cheering on your team-mates as they battle it out for

the coveted “College of the Year” trophy.
