I would just like on behalf of the family at this moment invite you all to the 100 nights thanksgiving Mass of my late wife Patricia Mawi to be held on the 25^th of May at 6pm which is now a month away so I thought I would just let you know early.

 

This  will be followed by a dinner at the Holy Eucharist Parish Church Hall at Laucala Bay.

 

Your PRESENCE will be most highly appreciated as the family end our traditional rituals of mourning.

 

I wish and pray that our Good Lord continue to bless you all and your families.

Thanks very much for the notice Sai.  At present I have not  heard  from the treasurer or the secretary  when the AGM will be held  and when the accounts will be ready for audit .  I do not want to experience what I had last year , a one page financial statement was given to me to do  the audit  within one to two weeks before AGM. I was dealing with Kevin from BSP then.

I hope they give me more time to do the  audit  because I have other clients  and need to plan. 

That is on the belief that  my firm will do the audit again. I will await the  MOB Excom decision!

I will try to drop in tomorrow for a bowl  with the Augustine house members  at the secretariat.

Bula Vinaka MOB Augustine Team

 

Please be advised that we were able to meet and discuss our team activities last night and the following items were agreed :-

 

1.     We continue with our fundraising and await confirmation of the AGM date.

2.     Treasurer to submit latest bank statement in the next meeting.

3.     We have a fundraiser at least once a month with raffles done in such a way that it is easy to sell .Therefore it was agreed that we do a kati .

4.     This will be in the form of 50 blocks per sheet at $1 per block and at least 30 sheets. If we can sell more than we can push the numbers up.

5.     There will be 20 draws of 1 #14 chicken per draw.

6.     With 30 sheets X 50 blocks x $1 per block we anticipate to make $1,500 if all sheets are sold.

7.     The draw date is Friday 25^th May 2018 at the Secretariat.

8.     Raffle Sheets will be distributed early next week.Please confirm how many sheets you would like to sell by replying to the email.There is only a limited amount but will print more if requested.

9.     We thank OB Mr Iowane Naiveli for donating a bag of chicken.

 

A lot of interesting issues were discussed and outcomes that would be taken for further consideration and for us to ponder upon includes

 

1.     MOB Excom to consider a fundraising event  for whole MOB Community rather than breaking it down in Houses. Eg a major texting competition which could rake in $100K provided we have a good prize in the competition such a 4WD or SUV

2.     Ride on the success of Marist Sevens and consolidate our Fundrasing to culminate on the day where we could capitalise on the crowd – by way of food stalls and have a festive mood to the whole games . MRC run the sevens we work on sidelines to fundraise through foodstalls and rides for the crowd. Our text and win completion too could be launched here too.

3.     The whole idea is based on the horse power concept – if one house can raise $10…than 4 houses combining their forces together could pull in more than what an individual house could do on its own. (see attachment )

4.     Revisit the Life Insurance policy that was introduced by BSP Life to cover our memebers in case of untimely death of members.

5.     If RKSOB , ACSOG and QVSOB can buy their own piece of Freehold land and build a multi million dollar business entity at our door step, than why cant we? …”If your dream does not scare you than you are not dreaming big enough”..unquote.(Lowel Lundstrum)
