Dear All,

Our boys will be back home next week after first term of this academic year. I would like to share some tips of what we, as parents, should do:

  1. Check with the headmaster or teachers on the general conduct of the ward
  2. Find out the challenges the ward encountered during the term
  3. Award/appreciate the good achievements made by the ward this term
  4. Condemn/rebuke the bad conducts/practices the ward might have been engaged in (if any or just advise generally)
  5. Offer assistance to create room for improvement. e.g. "what can I do to make you get good grades next term?"
  6. Find out the fears the ward has as second term is approaching
  7. Let the ward predict scores for next term, offer support to have them made better
  8. Encourage the ward to maintain good relationship with God.

CAUTION: Don't allow differences between mother and father affect the children's performance /behavior. As parents we should learn not to be selfish; Remember "we live for others".

We are the first role models of our children.

Tip No.4 MUST have an infusion of Tip No. 8! We should realize that God is in Control all the time and as we implement No4 parents must always do it as per God's prescription!

I must say I find these guidelines a "MUST DO for the parents".
